| Brooklyn Jews (2004, 2005, 2006) Founded in May 2003 by Rabbi Andy Bachman and his wife, Rachel Altstein, and funded by Natan for its first three years, Brooklyn Jews aims to be a “community center without walls” for unaffiliated Jews in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s in Brownstone Brooklyn. Brooklyn Jews has developed unique programs in music and the arts as well as more traditional Jewish expressions such as learning, prayer, social action and the Jewish life cycle. Its participants are seeking a meaningful and fulfilling connection to their Jewish identities by gathering as Jews on their own terms. |
