Tech-CareerAlmost every Tech-Career graduate is now employed in the high-tech sector, and the organization has a strategic objective of placing 1,000 Ethiopian Israelis in professional careers in the high-tech industry by 2012.
For over 25 years, Ethiopian Israelis have been struggling to integrate into Israeli society and to improve their economic situation, and today, more than 50% of Ethiopian Israeli families still live below the poverty line. Tech-Career provides an innovative solution to this problem and catapults young Ethiopian Israelis out of poverty and into promising careers in the high-tech industry. Founded in 2003 by Asher Elias (an Ethiopian Israeli) and Glenn Stein (an American immigrant to Israel), Tech-Career provides computer training and job placement in the high-tech industry for young Ethiopian Israeli adults through an intensive, year-long training and mentorship program. |
