Storahtelling
Founded by Israeli educator and performance artist Amichai Lau-Lavie in 1999, Storahtelling has flourished into a global movement. Storahtelling empowers individuals and communities to reclaim, refresh and advance Judaism on their own terms, creating a more informed, literate and active Jewish community. Using dramatic techniques to provide meaningful encounters with the sacred heirlooms of Judaic text and tradition, Storahtelling advances Judaic literacy among Jews of all ages and backgrounds. The organization engages affiliated Jews in new ways, and provides a gateway to unaffiliated Jews on the fringes of the community. Storahtelling is now entering a new phase of organizational life, shifting focus from modeling change (through performances) to training change agents on an international level. Natan's 2009 grant to Storahtelling is for general operating support.
Since its founding, over 1,000 Storahtelling presentations and educational programs have been held across the US and abroad, directly engaging over 100,000 people.
