Olim B'Yachad
Olim B'Yachad hopes to put itself out of business in 5-7 years, once it is able to bring a sizable group of Ethiopians into the Israeli white-collar workforce, who will break down stereotypes on a daily basis and provide much-needed connections and role models for upcoming groups of university graduates.
Olim B'Yachad: Leadership and Excellence in Employment for Ethiopian-Israeli Academicians assists Ethiopian-Israeli university graduates in properly absorbing into the Israeli workforce. Olim B'Yachad ("immigrants together") tackles the obstacles that hold even this educated, accomplished group of Ethiopian-Israelis back: it offers career guidance and advice, teaches workplace skills, builds self-esteem, and helps clients improve their English. Critically, the program also provides high-level mentors who can tap their professional networks on behalf of their advisees. Olim B'Yachad simultaneously works to eliminate Israeli society's prejudices and stereotypical images of the Ethiopian-Israeli population. |
