Institute of Southern Jewish Life
The Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) preserves and strengthens Jewish life across the Southern United States.
In small and large Jewish communities in twelve Southern states, the ISJL offers a wide array of innovative, region-specific services: a circuit-riding rabbi and itinerant educators for communities without their own clergy and professional education staff; a transdenominational, all-ages curriculum for supplementary religious schools; and high-level Jewish cultural programming for communities that cannot attract or afford these resources on their own. Natan's 2009 grant is for general operating support.
