Hazon
Hazon (Hebrew for "vision") works to create a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community, as a step towards a healthier and more sustainable world for all. Hazon creates transformational experiences that bring Jews of all backgrounds and ages together to learn, celebrate, and challenge themselves physically, including the annual New York Jewish Environmental Bike Ride, the Arava Insitute & Hazon Israel Ride, and the Heschel-Hazon Hike. Hazon is also the hub of the New Jewish Food Movement, with the annual Hazon Food Conference; Tuv Ha'Aretz, the first Jewish Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in North America; and Min Ha'Aretz, a family education initiative that focuses on food and Jewish tradition. Natan's grant to Hazon is for general operating support.
Founded in 1999 by Nigel Savage, Hazon has now become the premier Jewish organization focusing on environmental sustainability.
