Shavei Israel

Shavei Israel reaches out to "lost Jews" seeking to return to the Jewish people, assisting them in coming to terms with their heritage and identity in a spirit of tolerance and understanding.

The organization places special emphasis on groups around the world that have a historical connection to the people of Israel, such as the B'nei Anousim (or "Marranos") of Spain and Portugal, the descendants of the Jewish community of Kaifeng, China, and the B'nei Menashe of northeastern India.

Natan's grants have supported Shavei Israel's work with the B'nei Menashe, most recently assisting B'nei Menashe adults who have made aliyah to Israel to obtain vocational training in a variety of professions.
